Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear ?

Please wear comfortable stretchy clothes that allow a full range of movement. Leggings or jogging bottoms with a t-shirt are best. Wear clothes that will keep you cool during the class but bring a jumper and socks with you for your final relaxation when your body will cool down.

Unless you are attending a chair yoga class, you will be asked to remove your shoes at the door. It is better to practice yoga in bare feet but if you would prefer to wear anti slip socks then that’s fine.

I’m not flexible, can I still do yoga?

Yes, definitely, yoga is for everyone, young, old, those who are flexible as well as those who are stiffer and may not have exercised before or for many years.

I’m not fit, can I still do yoga?

Yes, there is no level of fitness required for the yoga classes I teach. If you are new, you will be asked to complete a short questionnaire.

What type of yoga do you teach?

I teach Hatha yoga which includes moving the body into different poses to help improve your strength, flexibility, breathing, concentration, balance, fitness and mental health. My classes are relaxing and calming but also fun and a little challenging.

Eating:

It is generally recommended you do not eat a heavy meal 1 – 2 hours before a class.

What if I’m late for a class?

Ideally, please arrive 5/10 minutes before your class is due to start, however, if you are running late, please let me know. I completely understand life doesn’t always go to plan. When you arrive, please enter the class quietly.

Mobile phones:

Unless you are expecting an urgent call, please turn your phone to silent for the duration of the class.

What if I need to leave before the end of the class?

Again, I will completely understand. If you know you will need to leave early, please make sure you position yourself near the back of the room so that you can leave quietly.

Do I need to bring a mat:

I do have yoga mats but if you have your own, you are welcome to bring it. Please note, you will need to use your own mat when attending lessons in the woods.

Yoga Equipment:

I have some equipment but again you are welcome to use your own.

Do I need to pay in advance for my classes?

Due to limited numbers and to ensure your space is secured, an online booking and payment system will be in place soon. In the meantime, please contact me to book your space.

What happens if I can’t make my lesson:

Lessons can be moved with 24 hours’ notice.

What if the class I wish to book is full?

Please email me and I will add your name to my reserve list. I will contact you should a slot become available. Lessons will be offered on a first come, first serve basis.

Under 16’s

Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult.

Water Bottles:

You are welcome to bring a water bottle with you.

Is there somewhere safe where I can leave my personal belongings?

Yes, there is a room where your personal belongings can be left or there will be space at the side of the room, near your mat.
